Italy - Raphael Gualazzi

After not taking part in the contest for 14 years Italy return to Eurovision with Raphael Gualazzi. He was selected after winning the Sanremo festival 2011.

As Italy are one of the big countries that help to fund the contest that are known as the "big five" they are sent straight to the Eurovision Song Contest final which is held on 14th May 2011 from the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf.
